THE COOPERS LIMITED EDITION - COLHEITA PORT 2006
THE COOPERS LIMITED EDITION - COLHEITA PORT 2006
High-quality Port issued from a single harvest. One aged in small barrels with 550 litres in direct contact with the wood, the other aged in large barrels called “balseiros”, with 15000 litres of capacity, going through a slower oxidation process.
Small Barrels Tasting Notes | Brownish colour. Notes of wood, spice and vanilla. Silky and elegante on the palate with notes of cocoa and spice.
Large Barrel Tasting Notes | Brown colour. Tobacco leaf, stewed fruit and caramel. Elegant and smooth on the palate, with notes of spice, caramel and exotic wood, with a dry and fresh finish.
The Colheita aged in small barrel goes specially well with crème brûlée or salted caramel cheesecake, while the other, aged in a large barrel, goes well with dried figs with walnuts. Ready to drink when bottled it should be served at 18°C/64°F or slightly chilled.

These two distinctive Port Wines pay a tribute to the cooperage art. A tradition that has been passed down from the master to the young apprentice year after year. Thanks to the remarkable talent of our coopers, our wines can breathe and age properly surrounded by a well-crafted wood. Because barrels are much more than a mere wine container, since the place where a wine age says a lot about how it will be and taste.
